I wouldn't really recommend this salon for curly hair even though the staff is friendly and pleasant. My hair was cut wet even though I was under the impression it would be cut dry (the manager I assume said they usually cut curly hair dry). The first thing my stylist did when I was seated was immediately comb all of my curls out into a ball of puff before washing it, and at least according to common sense there's no way to see how the hair is actually going to look when cutting it this way. Ladies we all want to look our best and I found a gem called Moxie Salon and Beauty Bar in Sparta, NJ. The staff is the most pleasant and courteous team I have ever experience with at a salon. From the receptionist desk to the salon chair is such a relaxing beauty experience. The salon is decorated in light blue and white walls with balloons and posters of beauty images that set the tone of this unique place of beauty. I want to thank the staff at Moxie Salon for the warm welcome they gave to my friend who is down on her luck after being turned away from another salon who said they didn't have the time and staff to take care of her. What she said was a big knot in her hair turned out to be a huge matted mess. I took a chance and called Moxie Salon and was given an immediate appointment for an evaluation. I’ve been going to Moxie Sparta for a weekly blow out since they opened and have never been disappointed. Today was my first time getting highlights there, and I am BLOWN AWAY with how they were able to transform my hair from brassy and dull to a gorgeous ashy blonde in one visit. I had the worst haircut I've ever received from Rebecca Perez. She chopped away at my head while ranting about her personal life drama, my hair suffered the consequences. She never used clips to make sections, just grabing random handfuls of hair and cutting. I came into the salon with long hair down my back. I requested a shoulder length cut with beach waves.
